Excavation reports and earlier research

The Alvastra pile dwelling has been subjected to three major projects. On this platform these are referred to in the following way.

• Otto Frödin’s excavations – the earlier excavations, the older excavations, the excavations of 1909 – 1930.
• Mats P. Malmer’s excavations – the later excavations, the excavations of 1976 – 1980.
• The Alvastra project 2015-2019 – the current project, the present project, the infrastructure project.
