Programs and events – Summer 2024
Make your Wednesdays historic in the spring of 2024 with events at the Swedish History Museum. Below you will find information about activities in English, as well as events for which understanding of Swedish is not needed to enjoy the activity.
On Wednesdays we offer half off on admission, so a visit costs 75 SEK. See opening hours and prices.
Bring your friends and start the evening with soup and a glass of wine in Restaurant Rosengården. On Wednesday evenings there is a special offer: soup and bread with a glass of wine or beer for 160 SEK, or with an alcohol free beverage for 120 SEK.
Guided tours in English
Saturdays and Sundays May 4 – June 9, 15.00 – 15.30
Vikings never cease to fascinate. Join us on a journey of discovery in the exhibition The Viking World. Meet the people of the Viking Age through unique objects that bear witness to death rituals, the power of fortune-tellers, the art of shipbuilding and long-distance voyages.
Tickets to the guided tour are included in the museum admission. Limited space – first come, first served. It is not possible to pre-book tickets.

Viking Summer
Open daily 15 June – 25 August 2024, 11:00 – 18:00. (Closed Midsummer’s Eve and Midsummer Day 21 – 22 June.)
This summer, the museum’s green courtyard is filled with activities for adults and children of all ages! Bake Viking Age bread and try handicrafts, clothes and games.
We offer daily tours for all ages in The Viking World, one of the world’s largest Viking exhibitions, in English and Swedish. Tour for adults: 15:00–15:30. Guided tour for families (in Swedish): 11:30–12:00.
Don’t miss the Viking Plate in our restaurant! All activities are included in museum admission, free for children aged 0-18.

Buy our annual pass
We offer an annual pass for SEK 450 that is valid for all museums within the National Historical Museums. The pass gives you free admission to all our permanent and temporary exhibitions, as many times as you wish during the year.
