Programs and events – Spring 2024

Make your Wednesdays historic in the spring of 2024 with events at the Swedish History Museum. Below you will find information about activities in English, as well as events for which understanding of Swedish is not needed to enjoy the activity.

On Wednesdays we offer half off on admission, so a visit costs 75 SEK. See opening hours and prices.

Bring your friends and start the evening with soup and a glass of wine in Restaurant Rosengården. On Wednesday evenings there is a special offer: soup and bread with a glass of wine or beer for 160 SEK, or with an alcohol free beverage for 120 SEK.

Culture Night: Glittering gold!

Saturday 20 April, 18.00 – 24.00

Come celebrate with us during Culture Night! In celebration of the 30th anniversary of our Gold Room, enjoy champagne and live jazz in the exhibition. See the real objects from SVT’s show Historien om Sverige; experience our new family exhibition; and play board games. Round off the night with Afrobeats, classical music and tapas in the Baroque Hall. Everything is free except food and drink!

Champagne bar and jazz

18.00 – 22.00
The Gold Room turns 30! Have a drink among gold and silver treasures from the Stone Age to historic times. Mingle to golden sounds from a saxophone with Jonas Liljeberg.

Music and tapas

Live music 20.30 and 22.00. The Tapas bar is open 20.30 – 23.30.
Enjoy African soukous-music, classical piano and tasty tapas among baroque objects. 20.30: Classical piano jam by John & Sebastian 22.00: Afrobeats by Dekula Band.

Explore our new family exhibition

18.00 – 24.00.
Have children you know seen “Historien om Sverige” on SVT? Our new immersive, playful exhibition “Together through time” is inspired by it. With hands-on activities, a film experience, and real objects from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages.

Food, drinks and board games in Restaurant Rosengården. There will also be guided tours of our exhibitions in Swedish, every hour on the hour between 18.00-23.00.

Handicrafts café

Wednesdays 21 February, 20 March, 24 April at 17.30 – 19.30

Get an exclusive insight into the museum’s collections and meet other people interested in arts and crafts. The museum’s experts select and display objects that were used for handicrafts. Feel free to bring your own craft project!

The activity is included in museum admission which is 75 SEK on Wednesday evenings. Our café will have drinks and snacks for sale.

We offer an annual pass for SEK 450 that is valid for all museums within the National Historical Museums. The pass gives you free admission to all our permanent and temporary exhibitions, as many times as you wish during the year.
