Viking for a day
Try Viking-age crafts and games. During all summer our large outdoor courtyard is filled with activities for all ages. Every day 10 am to 4 pm, from June 17 to August 25 (except June 21 and 22).
All activities free of charge.
- Play and try on Viking clothes.
- Try your bow and arrow skills, tug-of-war, duelling, Nine Men’s Morris and the wishing maze.
- Try your hand at Viking-age crafts.
- Bake Viking bread and tend the kitchen garden.
NB! The museum is closed June 21 and 22 due to Midsummer holidays. Viking for a day continues Sunday June 23.
Free guided tours
An introduction to the Viking age, two tours every day, at noon and at 1 pm.
The Gold Room
Here you will find Sweden’s greatest gold and silver treasures, including some dating from the Viking period.
The Rosengården Restaurant
Serves splendid lunches, Viking platters and mead, coffee and home baking.
The Museum Shop
The Museum Shop offers a wide range of handcrafts, glass, jewellery, books, toys and souvenirs inspired by our exhibitions.
A new Viking Exhibition in May 2020
The museum is proud to reveal that we are currently preparing one of the world’s largest Viking exhibitions, with genuine artefacts and stories about powerful people as well as about their thralls.
