Viking summer
This summer, the museum’s green courtyard is filled with activities for adults and children of all ages! Bake Viking Age bread and try handicrafts, clothes and games. We offer daily tours for all ages in The Viking World, one of the world’s largest Viking exhibitions, in English and Swedish. Don’t miss the Viking Plate in our restaurant! All activities are included in museum admission, free for children aged 0-18.

Guided tours for adults in English
Vikings never cease to fascinate. Join us on a journey of discovery The Viking World, one of the largest viking exhibitions in the world. Meet the people of the Viking Age through unique objects that bear witness to death rituals, the power of fortune-tellers, the art of shipbuilding and long-distance voyages. Explore a thousand square metres of thrilling stories, interactive stations for all the senses, and 2,500 original objects.

Offered daily 15 June – 25 August, 15.00–15.30.
We also offer a guided tour in Swedish every day 13.30–14.00 and a guided tour for families (in Swedish) every day 11.30–12.00.
Tickets
Tickets to the guided tour are included in museum admission. Ask for tickets at the information desk. Limited space – first come, first served. It is not possible to pre-book tickets. Suitable from 10 years of age.

Bake Viking bread
11:30–17:00
Bake your own Viking bread over an open fire and get a taste of the Viking Age.
Be a blacksmith
12:00–17:00
Peek into the forge and try your hand at forging iron with the help of our blacksmith.
Try Viking Age games
11:00–18:00
Try shooting a bow and arrow, and challenge a friend in a tug of war. Try on Viking Age clothes and play Viking Age board games. You can also visit the kitchen garden, or relax on the grass.

No tickets are needed to the activities, they are all drop-in and included in museum admission. Limited space – first come, first served. It is not possible to pre-book.

Enjoy a lunch in our pleasant restaurant, where a Viking plate and pancakes for the little ones are served. Don’t miss our beautiful outdoor courtyard where you can enjoy a coffee, wine and beer, and ice cream.

Sustainability is at the top of our list when choosing suppliers. Look out for more sustainably and small-scale produced products in the store!
Annual pass
Our annual pass (SEK 450) is valid for all museums included in the National Historical Museums. The pass includes free admission to the museums as well as all permanent and temporary exhibitions at:
