Public conservation
Work in progress: Conservation of a medieval altarpiece from Kumla in the county of Närke, dated to 1439. Those performing the conservation work are students from the Nordic academic degree programmes
for conservation, led by the Swedish History Museum’s Senior Conservator, Håkan Lindberg, and staff
from participating universities.
Behind the project are NordPlus Horizontal (Nordic Council of Minister’s programme to support cooperation between institutions from different sectors of education in the Nordic and Baltic countries), the Swedish History Museum, University of Gothenburg, University of Oslo and Helsinki Metropolia University.
You will find the altarpiece in the Gothic Hall on the first floor.
