Treasures in the dark during the autumn break

Is it true that gold treasures are guarded by dragons? Join us for exciting flashlight tours in our treasure chamber during the autumn break. Plus, magical creatures and monsters with illustrator Johan Egerkrans.

(All activites will be in Swedish)

Flashlight Tour

Date: October 25 – November 3 (open every day)
Time: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM

We turn off the lights in the Gold Room and hand out flashlights. Then, you’ll embark on a playful and perhaps slightly spooky journey among gold and silver treasures from Sweden’s long history.

Tickets

The tour is suitable for ages 5 and up, accompanied by an adult, and is included in the admission ticket. Free admission for children.

You can pick up your tour tickets at the info desk on the same day. Maximum one adult per child. Limited spaces available

Autumn Break Workshop with Johan Egerkrans

Date: November 3
Time: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Do you like drawing and painting? Are you fascinated by monsters and magical creatures? Join us for a workshop with illustrator Johan Egerkrans.

On the last day of the autumn break, we invite children aged 9 and up to create their own magical creatures. Johan Egerkrans, an experienced illustrator, will share his best tips and techniques. After the workshop, Johan Egerkrans will be signing his books in the museum shop. Several of his books will be available for purchase, but you can also bring your favorite book from home.

Tickets

The workshop is free for children and suitable for ages 9 and up. Limited spaces available. Book your child’s ticket on Tickster. Adults do not need a ticket for the workshop but must purchase an entrance ticket to the museum upon arrival.

The booked ticket must be shown at the information desk by 2:00 PM. After that, the ticket will be given to someone else.

The Tale of the Piraeus Lion

Date: October 26
Time: 12:15 PM – 1:15 PM

Join us for the release of a children’s book about the Piraeus Lion, which stands as a statue in the museum’s entrance hall. Listen to author Erik Magntorn as he reads aloud from the book. Draw and paint together with illustrator Martine Castoriano.

The Tale of the Piraeus Lion tells the story of the lion’s adventurous journey from ancient Athens to modern-day Venice, a journey through time and space, where we even meet Vikings who couldn’t resist carving runes on the lion!

Program

12:15 PM – 12:35 PM: Book reading by author Erik Magntorn, drop-in.
12:35 PM – 1:15 PM: Workshop with illustrator Martine Castoriano, pick up a ticket at the information desk on the same day.
The book will be available for purchase in the museum shop.

Autumn Holiday Book Offer

A selection of childrens books (in Swedish) will be available at 20% off during the period 22 October – 3 November 2024. The books on sale are Sagan om Pireuslejonet by Erik Magntorn and Martine Castoriano, and Väsen by Johan Egerkrans. The museum shop has the same opening hours as the museum.
