The Swedish History Museum is located in central Stockholm, within walking distance of Djurgårdsbron, Karlaplan, and Östermalmstorg. Our visitor address is Narvavägen 17.

Getting here by public transport

The bus stop for line 67 is located next to the museum on Narvavägen. You can also walk from the metro stations at Karlaplan or Östermalmstorg, and from the bus and tram stops at Djurgårdsbron.

Ride your bike

There is a bike lane all the way to the Swedish History Museum.

Parking and accessible parking

Car parking is available along Narvavägen. Tourist bus parking is located on Linnégatan along the museum’s facade, as indicated by signs. Parking spots are managed by the City of Stockholm.

The museum’s accessible parking is located just to the right of the main stairs at Narvavägen 17. The surface at the accessible parking area is cobblestone.

  • Or enjoy a 40-minute walk through scenic Östermalm

From Stadsgården to the museum:

  • Walk to Londonviadukten bus stop. Take a bus to Slussen, then transfer to the metro (red line) to Karlaplan or Östermalmstorg. From there, walk 5-10 minutes to the museum.
