Make your weekends and Wednesdays historic with events at the Swedish History Museum. Below you will find information about activities in English, as well as events for which understanding of Swedish is not needed to enjoy the activity.
Guided tours in English
Saturdays and Sundays at 14.30 – 15.00, August 31 – September 29, 2024.
Vikings never cease to fascinate. Join us on a journey of discovery in the The Viking World, one of the largest viking exhibitions in the world.
A ticket to the guided tour is included in museum admission; retrieve it in the information desk. Limited space – first come, first served.
Wednesday evenings
On Wednesday evenings (September 1 – December 31, 2024) the museum is open until 8:00 PM.
Feel free to bring your friends and start the evening with soup and a glass of wine at Restaurant Rosengården. Your ticket to the on-site events gives you free admission to the museum and all exhibitions.
Something else to look forward to: This winter, witches take over the Swedish History Museum with a new exhibition, Witches.
Craft evenings
Wednesday, September 25 and November 6, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Are you curious about historical handicrafts and crafts? Feel free to bring your own project to try out. You can buy refreshments or something to eat at Restaurant Rosengården. There will also be lectures on each night in Swedish.

Music at the museum

Buy our annual pass
We offer an annual pass for SEK 450 that is valid for all museums within the National Historical Museums. The pass gives you free admission to all our permanent and temporary exhibitions, as many times as you wish during the year.
