Participating artists

In the exhibition History Unfolds – Contemporary Art Meets History, which was displayed November 18 2016 to November 19 2017, the Swedish History Museum chose to work with artists, since they can ask new, often uncomfortable questions about historical material, explore other research methods and express new perspectives.

Together with the artists, the Swedish History Museum wanted to make the invisible visible, explore what is hidden and forgotten and create a new understanding of history.

Participating artists: Esther Shalev-Gerz, Dušica Dražić, James Webb, Minna L. Henriksson, Elisabeth Bucht, Artur Żmijewski, Jananne Al-Ani, Hiwa K, Susan Meiselas (until September 4, 2017) and Meriç Algün Ringborg.
