Altar pieces with depictions of saints and holy events served as monumental decorations for altars during the Middle Ages. Despite the Christian message, the figures populating the medieval altar pieces, saints and sinners and sometimes even the holy family are usually dressed in contemporary fashion.
Senior curator Helen Persson will talk about the different clothing, textiles and headwear, bags and shoes illustrated in altar pieces.
Limited number of participants, 35 persons. Free of charge.
